Subtitles are automatically generated for lecture recordings processed by the system. Any other videos (i.e. manually scheduled events, or uploaded videos) have the option to generate subtitles checked by default.
If a video does not have subtitles available for it, it may be possible to request this – note that you must be logged into the Video Portal in order to request subtitles.
Simply click on the options button beneath the video, select the ‘Request subtitles’ option and complete the steps. If you receive a message saying subtitles have already been created for the video, you would need to get in touch with us to query/request new subtitles.
Please note, it can take up to 24 hours for subtitles to become available for a video due to the different services involved, and you will not receive a notification – the subtitle icon will simply appear on the player controls when they are ready.
